John's Bio:

B.A. in International Development and French, Sonoma State University
Masters in Social Science - Development and International Relations, Aalborg University, Denmark.

John is a native Californian who earned his Bachelor degree in French and International Development at SSU. His wanderlust took John to Québec City for 4 years, including a year studying at Laval University, and to Denmark for 12 years, where he earned an M.Sc. in Development & International Relations from Aalborg University and subsequently began supervising master’s students research projects. John speaks fluent Danish, though his Québécois French needs brushing up. John began teaching English as a second language in Denmark and taught international students studying English at UC Davis-Extension after returning to California in 2012. Since 2014, John has taught research methodology to SSU Global Studies seniors writing their thesis, as well as the Global Perspectives course for incoming Freshmen studying Modern Languages. In 2015, John began teaching ESL at SSU’s American Language Institute, where he now serves as Faculty Coordinator. John lives in Cotati with his Chinese wife, where they help keep the chickens fed.
