Temporary Faculty Appointments

Lecturers hired either part-time or full-time on a temporary basis are considered temporary faculty with protection under the California Faculty Association. Lecturers start with a semester appointment at Sonoma State. This can become a one-year appointment. After a cumulative evaluation process in the 6th consecutive year, lecturers may be offered a three-year contract which would give them entitlement to a certain number of units within a specific department over the next three years, given the work is available.
