Housing Oversight, Student Housing Task Force and Workforce Housing Task Force

Housing Oversight Group

    Purpose

    The Oversight Housing Committee is responsible for offering broad-based feedback, input and perspective to the specific Housing Task Force Sub-Committees. This will help ensure the two sub-committees are planning thoughtfully relative to one another, and assist in soliciting broader campus participation as appropriate.

Student Housing Task Force

Purpose

  • Advise and recommend appropriate actions specifically as it relates to Student Housing (If the University were to develop new Student Housing, what would the appropriate size and characteristics of such a development, and what would be the financial implications of such a development) Pre-Planning, Pre-Construction, Construction and Post Construction activities and planning to the V.P. of Administration and Finance and the VP for Student Affairs.
  • Confirm all issues and/or options are considered that may arise or be of interest or concern to the campus in a timely manner regarding Pre-Planning, Pre-Construction, Construction and Post Construction activities.  These issues may arise from the Task Force Group’s work or be brought to its attention.
  • Rationale

  • The Student Housing Task Force Group is being formed, and has a diverse membership represented from the university to provide guidance, and advise on various issues specific to the Student Housing Pre-Construction, Construction and Post Construction activities
  • Time Frame

  • Meetings are to be scheduled monthly (sometimes more frequent as required, to be determined) during the academic year and over the summer as required.  The start date of the first meeting is proposed for April 2018 and the Student Housing Task Force Group will conclude its charge, tentatively December 2022.
  • Tasks

  • Specific tasks and timelines will be tied to, but not limited to the Student Housing Project Plan Schedule, to be determined, estimated projected project timeline is as outlined and is subject to change:
  • Project Start Summer 2019
  • BOT approval 2019
  • Construction Start 2021
  • Construction Complete Fall 2022

Workforce Housing Task Force

  • Advise and recommend appropriate actions specifically as it relates to Workforce Housing Pre-Planning (If the University were to develop new Workforce Housing, what would the appropriate size and characteristics of such a development, and what would be the financial implications of such a development), Pre-Construction, Construction and Post Construction activities and planning to the V.P. of Administration and Finance and the VP for Student Affairs.
