ART Student Opportunities

  • Notre Vue Winery launched a scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students. It awards $2,000 and the opportunity to have the recipients art featured on one of our their labels.  Follow the link to their website for more information.

  • The CSU Student Research Competition is held annually to showcase the outstanding scholarly and creative research accomplishments of both undergraduate and graduate students across all disciplines and includes scholars from all 23 California State University campuses.2019-2020 Student Research Awards (Round 2) Please note that the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs will pay approved travel costs for students chosen to represent SSU at this event.
  • Opportunity for students and faculty to have their artwork displayed at our district office at the Rattigan State Building in Santa Rosa. Assembly member Levine is always looking to promote the work of diligent students in our community. Additionally, they have their holiday office hours coming up in December, which would be an opportunity to further highlight student and faculty artwork. Please let Christine know if you would like to participate by the end of the week, Friday, November 2nd. Additionally, the California Arts Council has opened applications for their 2019 grants programs. Many of these grants pertain to students with vested interest in art, including funding for field trips. Here is the link to the applications:
  • A student show at Honey Badger Cafe in Rohnert Park. Since this is a cafe, we're looking for smaller pieces, no larger than 18"x24". This would be done through the Art Club and if people are interested they can contact me at
    Santa Rosa residents of all ages are invited to enter a piece of art in the 17th annual National Arts Program® exhibition and competition. Participants will be eligible for cash prizes, art supply gift certificates and a continuing education scholarship.   • The Sonoma State Star is looking for an Editorial Cartoonist for the paper. The position involves creating a cartoon, depending on weekly content, once a week by mid-Monday. This is an unpaid internship with possibility of schoalarship at the end.
