IRA Funds

IRA (Instructionally Related Activates) Funds provide funding to activities and experiences that are at least partially sponsored by an academic discipline or a department. Activities that receive IRA Funds are considered to be integrally related to the formal instructional offerings provided by the institution.Activities that are considered to be essential to the quality of an educational program or the instructional experience for students enrolled at Sonoma State University may be considered and instructionally Related Activity.

Sports Clubs
Sports clubs that have IRA funds for years starting in 2011-2012 academic year must meet with Mike Dominquez and Linda Williams PRIOR to spending any funds.

***ALL PURCHASES USING IRA FUNDS MUST BE PRE-APPROVED BY LINDA WILLIAMS ***

Note: This can be done at the beginning of the year or as needs become realized.
There are three methods available to make expenditures.
1. Credit Card ( AS Business Office has a Visa card that can be utilized for on-line payments)
2. Direct Pay ( Payment made by a check directly to the vendor for purchases under $2,500.00)
3. E-req or Purchase Order ( for all purchases over $2,500.00)

Clubs not following the spending requirements, will need to pay for purchased or ordered goods and services with club funds and may lose their IRA funds and may lose their club status.
