Orientation

Our orientation program is mandatory for all new international students. After you are admitted, the International Student Coordinator in the Center for International Education will contact you with information about orientation.

At orientation, will cover the following subject areas:

  • American Culture
  • Safety in the U.S.
  • Local transportation and amenities
  • Campus life and activities (tour included)
  • Immigration requirements
  • Forms and document scanning (bring your passport/visa and I-20/DS-2019)
  • Academic advising and registration
  • Online resources
  • Health insurance and healthcare in the U.S.
  • Title IX training

As most new students don’t have cars, we also provide an optional shopping trip to Target where you can purchase everything you need that you couldn’t fit in a suitcase. Housing Services provides a helpful list of What to Bring to your on-campus residences.
