Accepted Transfer students

Welcome to the Electrical Engineering program at Sonoma state University! Get started by reviewing this information about registration, advising, and orientation. If you have more questions, please contact the department chair, Dr. Farid Farahmand - Salazar Hall #2004.

NOTE: If you have not yet been admitted and plan to transfer to the EE program at SSU please read the transfer page.

Important notes to transfer students registering at SSU for the first time:

  • If you are trying to register for your Major ES courses and any of them are full, please send an email to Ms. Ronnie Goodlund and let her know. Please make sure you include your Seawolf ID number.
  • If you are trying to register for any Non-ES course and the class is full, you MUST contact the appropriate Department (not the ES Department) and see if it is possible to get permission to register for the class.

Meeting Your Advisor

We are committed to ensure your smooth transition to our Electrical Engineering program at SSU. We highly recommend you meet with an ES advisor and introduce yourself before the classes begin. Please contact Ms. Ronnie Goodlund to setup an appointment with an advisor. Information for faculty and staff at ES Department can be found at Faculty & Staff page. Before you meet with your advisor please make sure you have the following ready:

  1. Make sure you know your Seawolf ID number;
  2. Go to the department office and ask for the Manila Folder with your name on it. If you don’t have a folder, make sure you receive an empty Manila Folder. Carefully write your first name, last name, and Seawolf ID number on its assorted tab. Present the folder to your advisor.
  3. Have a paper copy of your MARKED roadmap indicating all your transferred courses (hard copies of the roadmap are available in the ES office in Salazar Hall #2004);
  4. Have a paper copy of the most recent course schedule (hard copies of the class schedule are available in the ES office in Salazar Hall #2004).

Each fall, the ES department sponsors an orientation to introduce new undergraduate students to faculty and other students. The orientation will be conducted at the beginning of the semester. Please contact Ms. Ronnie Goodlund for more information.
