The Craft Beer Appreciation Certificate program will give students a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the brewing process, business of beer, and beer appreciation. The program will touch on all aspects of the industry with a focus on craft beer. Industry professionals will present their areas of expertise and experience to students over 10 class meetings for a total of 30 hours. The certificate program is divided into two modules of 5 classes each. The first module, Craft Beer Appreciation I: What Is Beer?, discusses the brewing process, the pleasures and history of beer, and cooking and pairing with beer. The second module, Craft Beer Appreciation II: The Business of Beer, covers the business of beer from ground to glass, navigates the legal and regulatory structure, the ABC’s of Beer Law, beer distribution, and what beer judges and rating sites are looking for in an award winning beer.

Throughout the five weeks, students will be exposed to some of the most influential and experienced professionals in the brewing industry and related fields.
