An Introductory Sampler of Tips, Techniques, and Perspectives

The program: One three-hour workshop to help you learn how to manage workplace conflict better and communicate effectively. Topics include foundational skills to understand conflict and communicate better across differences, as well as techniques for how to deal with bullying and aggression, manage intergenerational and cross cultural communication issues, facilitate meetings and groups, give and receive feedback, and negotiate for yourself and others. This certificate is for managers, CSuite executives, HR professionals, team leaders and anyone who wants to be more effective at work.

Faculty Information

Lorraine Segal, M.A., was a tenured community college professor and middle manager for many years before she found her true passion for helping businesses, organizations, and individuals communicate better, resolve conflicts, let go of resentments, and deal with bullying. The goal: to create a more harmonious and productive workplace and life.

About her work, Lorraine says, “I bring communication expertise, creative problem-solving, a compassionate heart and spiritual connection to shine a healing light on conflict, misunderstandings, and bullying.”

As well as being an adjunct professor at Sonoma State University, she also teaches for Brāv Online Conflict Management and is a conflict management coach for the Department of the Interior and through her own business, Conflict Remedy. She has been interviewed by NPR and quoted in Huffington Post. She is a contributing author in the new book, Stand up, Speak Out against Workplace Bullying available in January 2018.
