GPS Scholarships

SEIE will be awarding a limited number of need-based scholarships for Summer Session! In order to be considered for a GPS Scholarship, you must:

  1. Be a matriculated, undergraduate SSU student in good academic standing
  2. Be enrolled in 3 or more units during Summer Session
  3. Have filed a FAFSA or a Dream Act Application with SSU for the 17-18 academic year

The GPS Scholarship Application will be available online March 12 and must be submitted online no later than 11:59 pm on April 16, 2018. Late applications will not be accepted. Award notifications will go out by April 20, 2018.

Summer Senior Scholarships

SEIE will be awarding a limited number of scholarships to senior-standing students for Summer Session! In order to be considered for a Senior Scholarship, you must:

  1. Be a matriculated, undergraduate SSU student in good academic standing
  2. Be enrolled in 3 or more units during Summer Session
  3. Demonstrate that you will be on-track for graduation by May 2019
  4. Consult with an advisor to create a graduation plan that includes your Summer Session class.

To apply for a Senior Scholarship, please complete the Summer Session 2018 Senior Scholarship Application which will be available online March 12 and must be submitted online no later than 11:59 pm on April 16, 2018. You will also need to complete the Senior Scholarship Graduation Plan, which must be approved by an advisor and submitted in hard copy to the SEIE Office (Stevenson Hall 1012) by 5 pm on Monday, April 16. Late applications will not be accepted.

Award notifications will go out by April 20, 2018 via email to your SSU email account.

Senior Scholarship awards are based on progress towards graduation. There are a limited number of Senior Scholarships available, preference will be given to seniors closest to meeting graduation requirements. Senior Scholarship applicants who qualify for the GPS Scholarship will automatically be considered for a GPS Scholarship award.

Applicants may be awarded either a GPS or a Senior scholarship, but not both.

Exception Scholarships

If you do not meet the criteria to be considered for a GPS Scholarship because you have not filed a FAFSA or completed a CA Dream Act application, and you believe you have an extenuating circumstance (such as international status or you qualify for a Veteran’s Fee Waiver), you may apply for an exception.

If you are applying for an exception, please complete the GPS Scholarship Exception Application which will be available online March 12 and must be submitted online no later than 11:59 pm on April 16, 2018. You will also need to provide a hard copy brief written statement explaining your circumstance, which must be received in the SEIE Office (Stevenson Hall 1012) by 5pm on Monday, April 16. Late applications will not be accepted.

Scholarship exceptions may be provided only if sufficient funding is available.
