NEW Intersession Scholarship Opportunities!

Scholarships for Students Directly Impacted by Area Fires

SEIE is working with NomaCares to provide full scholarships—sufficient to cover the tuition fees of one course in Winter Intersession 2018—for students directly impacted by the fire.

To apply for the scholarship please contact NomaCares through the link above or by email at nomacare@sonoma.edu. NomaCares will confirm eligibility and assist with the steps necessary to work with SEIE to receive this scholarship.

Along with the steps above, students must enroll in one Winter Intersession 2018 class in order to receive this scholarship. For assistance with registration, contact SEIE at 707-664-2394.

GPS Scholarships

SEIE will be awarding a limited number of need-based scholarships for Winter Intersession! In order to be considered for a GPS Scholarship, you must:

  1. Be a matriculated, undergraduate SSU student in good academic standing
  2. Be enrolled in 3 or more units during Winter Intersession
  3. Have filed a FAFSA or a Dream Act Application with SSU for the 17-18 academic year

The GPS Scholarship Application is now available and must be submitted online no later than 11:59 pm on November 27, 2017. Late applications will not be accepted. Award notifications will go out by November 29, 2017.

GPS Exception Scholarships

If you do not meet the criteria to be considered for a GPS Scholarship because you have not filed a FAFSA or completed a CA Dream Act application, and you believe you have an extenuating circumstance (such as international status or you qualify for a Veteran’s Fee Waiver), you may apply for an exception.

If you were affected by the recent area fires and believe you may qualify to receive a GPS scholarship without meeting these other criteria, please apply for an exception and explain the circumstances in your written statement.

If you are applying for an exception, please complete the GPS Scholarship Exception Application. You will also need to provide a hard copy brief written statement explaining your circumstance, which must be received in the SEIE Office (Stevenson Hall 1012) by 5pm on Monday, November 27.

The GPS Scholarship is need-based. Scholarship exceptions may be provided only if sufficient funding is available.
