Carin Jacobs began her role as Director of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at SSU in August of 2013. A specialist in adult education with extensive experience in arts administration and curriculum development, Carin most recently served as Director of the Center for the Arts, Religion and Education at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. At previous stages in her career, she served as Curator of Education and Public Programs at the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley and as Interim Manager of Adult Programs at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. She holds a Masters Degree in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University and a Bachelors Degree in French Literature from UC Santa Cruz. Carin has taught courses in both Museum Studies and Food Studies at the graduate level, and sits on the board of the Petaluma Arts Center.

Chris Alexander, Program Assistant

Chris Alexander was hired at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in December 2013 as the OLLI Program Assistant. She worked for the Association of California School Administrators as Conference Coordinator in the Bay Area for many years. When her children were young, Chris and a group of parents, teachers and administrators created the Children's Community Charter School in Paradise, California, where she worked as Office Manager for 14 years. Deciding that it was time to move on, Chris was hired as Director of the Paradise Ridge Senior Center, where she thoroughly enjoyed her interaction with older adults. Prior to her move back to her hometown of Sebastopol, Chris was Student Services Manager at Living Light Culinary Institute in Fort Bragg.

A true lifelong learner herself, Chris Rogers has worn many hats over the course of her career. Most recently, she has worked as a business and nonprofit consultant. She also worked for many years as a paralegal in a private law firm and as a judicial clerk in Sonoma County Superior Court. She taught for eleven years as an elementary school teacher and retains a current teaching credential. She holds a Law Degree from Empire College School of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from Sonoma State University, where she is currently completing her Master’s Degree in Public Administration.
