Viki Monera-Heckman, Academic Coordinator

Dr. Montera began her career in Colorado as a classroom teacher. She taught in various settings from open classroom/team teaching to self-contained classroom. As a new teacher, she was puzzled by the conflict in her local community over a new innovative educational program. Thus, she began and completed her MA in Communication with an emphasis on organizational development, interpersonal communication and conflict management. She was elected and served as President of her local NEA teachers' union for two years. She has experience in collective bargaining and policy development. She became a staff member of the Arizona Education Association in 1989, serving as director of professional and instructional development and public relations. Continuing her interest and commitment to school reform, professional and community involvement, Dr. Montera began her doctoral work and coordinated the work of the Education and Community Change Project-a multi-year, school reform project in five economically poor neighborhoods and schools in Tucson, Arizona. Her research focused on school reform, professional dialogue and the school and community relationship. Following her doctoral program, Dr. Montera served as principal of a K-8, multi-age progressive school southern CA. At SSU she has served as the Co-Director of Educational Leadership Program and the CANDEL Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership. She is active in faculty committees and Senate, serving as Chair of the Faculty Standards and Activities Committee (FSAC). She continues to work as an educational consultant with schools and districts on professional learning communities, teacher dialogue, curriculum, instruction and assessment issues, as well as community involvement. David Warner, MAOD Director

David Warner, M.A., is a business consultant, executive coach, and trainer specializing in whole-system approaches to organization and team development. He consults nationally to organizations in the public, private, and non-profit sectors to help leaders and groups work more effectively. As a facilitator, he helps large and small groups manage their agendas and meet their goals.

Dave has a passion for training. Highly skilled in instructional design, he takes great pleasure in developing client-specific curricula. His knowledge of work systems and corporate culture, coupled with his ability to assess organizational needs, allows him to design and present relevant, engaging training that people are excited to put to use.

Both a qualified administrator of the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) and a certified trainer in The Enneagram in Business, Dave is an expert in personality typing systems and believes in the value of the common language they bring to teams and businesses. He is currently using the Enneagram (an ancient and widely applicable nine-point system for understanding personality, motivation, and behavior) to help organizations learn to communicate effectively, manage conflict, develop high-performing teams, and increase leadership competency and effectiveness.

Lynn Woznicki, MAOD Director

Lynn Woznicki, M.A., M.A.O.D, is a facilitator and trainer, and leadership development and team effectiveness strategist. Woznicki Consulting is committed to strengthen, evolve and grow clients in the business, nonprofit and government sectors. Lynn's passion is working with individuals, groups and organizations to help them improve performance by increasing personal and professional effectiveness. She lives for those "ah hah!" light bulb moments when a client or group has a realization about something that has been holding them back or contributing to their challenges. Woznicki Consulting services include supervisor and team effectiveness training, project and retreat facilitation, leadership development, conflict management, and coaching. Lynn holds an M.A. in Psychology/Organization Development from Sonoma State University, an M.A. in Business Management/Marketing from Sonoma State University, and a B.S. in Biomedical Communications from Ohio State University. She completed a 6-year credential program with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management at Stanford University.

Talia Eisen

Talia Eisen, M.A., is an Organization Development (OD) Consultant and Executive Coach, with a Masters degree in OD and Psychology from Sonoma State University. She has worked with clients in such fields as broadcasting, technology, education, banking, the health industry and the non-profit sector. Talia emphasizes cultivating great leadership in individuals from the executive level to the front line. Adult learning, excellent communication and systems scope awareness are the tenets of her work.

Talia has specialized in moving teams through complex change and growth as well as managing conflict and employee relations. She works with business leaders and teams to find custom solutions and provide effective implementation for lasting results.

As a fluent Spanish speaker, she enjoys looking at diversity through the lenses of multi-cultural awareness, learning styles and personality types. One of her passions is the Enneagram and she has used this training as a tool for groups to gain personal awareness and improve team effectiveness.

Talia is an award-winning writer and has presented her organizational research at the OD Network National Conference. She co-authored a chapter of a textbook for physicians on the topic of effective communication for health care practitioners.

With her background in the creative arts and her nearly 20 years experience working in corporations and for herself, Talia has a broad perspective on the needs of businesses and individuals within those systems. She brings her strong interpersonal skills and leadership experience to her consulting and executive coaching work.

Monica Harlow

Monica Harlow, M.A., has worked as a management and human resources professional for the last 13 years. For six years, Monica has been consulting to organizations on projects of process improvement, organizational effectiveness, and staff training and development. As a graduate of the SSU Organization Development Program, Monica is excited to bring her professional and academic experiences to teaching.

Beatrice Chestnut

Beatrice Chestnut, Ph.D., M.A., is a licensed psychotherapist, executive coach, and business consultant based in San Francisco. She has a Ph.D. in communication studies and an M.A. in clinical psychology. A student of the Enneagram system of personality since 1990, she is author of the books, The Complete Enneagram: 27 Paths to Greater Self-Knowledge and The 9 Types of Leadership: Mastering the Art of People in the 21st-Century Workplace. She has taught at Northwestern University and the California Institute of Integral Studies, and she was trained in group facilitation and has facilitated student learning groups at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business since 2000. She specializes in helping individuals, leaders, and teams increase emotional intelligence and create positive change using the Enneagram system. She served as President of the International Enneagram Association from 2006-2007 and teaches workshops on the Enneagram internationally, focusing on using it as a tool for leadership development and personal transformation.

Saul Eisen

Saul Eisen, Ph.D. is one of the founders of the OD Program at SSU. His international consulting practice integrates strategic planning and organization development. He partners with clients to develop empowered individuals, high performing teams, competitive organizations, and thriving communities. As part of this work, he facilitates small and large group conference sessions, bringing together stakeholders with diverse perspectives. He guides them in creating an environment in which they can discover common ground, develop a shared vision for their desired future, and generate concrete action plans for implementation. Follow-through support provides training and coaching for task-force groups, and consultative guidance through the crucial implementation stages.

Among his clients have been Fortune 500 companies such as Bank of America, Texas Instruments, and Hewlett-Packard; educational institutions such as Rancho Cotate High School, Instituto Centro-Americano Administración de Empresa (Costa Rica), and the Jerusalem Academy of Art; and community organizations such as the three federations of Kibbutzim in Israel, the City of Sebastopol, the Napa County Department of Health and Human Services, the School Board and Town Council of Windsor, and the Oregon Symphony.

Lee Glickstein

Lee Glickstein, founder of Speaking Circles International, is an authority on authentic leadership communication. He delivers keynotes, workshops and private coaching with a unique combination of inspiration and step-by-step innovation. He facilitates ease, power and effectiveness in clients ranging from professional communicators to "non-speakers" with severe stage fright.

His own long term stage fright motivated Lee to develop a simple but elegant approach to break through the epidemic fear of being fully oneself with groups. This process of discovery led him to a thorough understanding of the principles of authentic leadership communication through the practice of Relational Presence.

In 1989, Lee developed Speaking Circles as a modality to make his innovative approach available globally. Since then he has facilitated thousands of Speaking Circles, workshops and retreats, and Speaking Circles International has trained over 500 Speaking Circle Facilitators around the world.

Lee is author of Be Heard Now! Tap Into Your Inner Speaker and Communicate with Ease (Broadway Books), How to Speak Naturally and Powerfully in Front of Any Audience (Sounds True Audiotapes), and the Ebook: Speakers' Guide to Authentic Connection: The Alchemy of Influence through Relational Presence.

Lee graduated from Brooklyn College with a B.A. in Sociology in 1966. He was a social worker in New York City for eight years before moving to California to "follow his bliss." He performed stand-up comedy in San Francisco before becoming an innovator in the field of "humor as healing," serving as Director of the Humor in Medicine Program at the California Pacific Medical Center in the early 1990's. In 1996, Lee was awarded the Athena Award for Excellence in Coaching and Mentoring.

Lee lives in Marin County, California. His hobby is constructing crossword puzzles for the New York Times.

Debora Hammond

Debora Hammond, Ph.D., taught in the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies from 1996 until 2017. She completed her doctoral work in the history of science at the University of California at Berkeley, focusing on the history of systems thinking. Additionally, Debora served as Director and Academic Coordinator for the Organization Development MA Program from 2009 until her retirement in 2017.

She has been particularly interested in finding ways to nurture more participatory, co-creative approaches to decision making. Her teaching in the Hutchins School, which emphasizes student-centered interactive learning, is an active embodiment of this orientation. In addition to teaching undergraduate courses on healthcare, monetary systems, and food systems, she works with graduate students in the Action for a Viable Future MA program, and is actively involved in the local community on food policy and sustainability.

Sara Tickler

Sara Tickler, Psy.D., has been a principal Organization Development consultant for the past 25 years. Sara has also taught courses at the Masters level since 2003. She is committed to democratic participative processes in the workplace and has a depth of experience and expertise in systems analysis, change management, business process improvement, survey construction and delivery, and conflict resolution. Sara has worked with a wide variety of not-for-profit, private and public sector clients over the years. Sara holds a Doctorate Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a Master of Arts in Organization Development.
