Direct PLUS (Parent) Loan Application and Instructions

Each year a student must file a FAFSA to be offered a PLUS Loan. After the student receives an award offer, the parent may apply for the PLUS Loan by filling out a PLUS Loan Application each academic year.

PLUS Loan Application for Fall 2018, Spring 2019, and Summer 2019

For the 2018-2019 academic year, students use MySSU to accept the PLUS Loan and indicate that a parent or step-parent intends to apply for the PLUS Loan using the StudentLoans.gov website. Accepting the PLUS Loan in MySSU will not result in a loan being created, but it tells the SSU Financial Aid Office that a parent or step-parent will use StudentLoans.gov to begin the PLUS Loan application process. When the PLUS Loan is accepted in MySSU, we will send the student instructions by email explaining how the parent or step-parent proceeds with the application at StudentLoans.gov.
