The Distinguished Alumni Award

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor bestowed upon SSU alumni by the Sonoma State University Alumni Association. This award was established in 1987 by the association to provide recognition for outstanding graduates and former students of Sonoma State University.

The selection criteria include significant and humanitarian contributions to the community and to society at large. Nominations for this award are solicited annually. Individuals wishing to make a nomination may do so through the Alumni Office. The nominations are received by a selection committee, which then makes recommendations to the Alumni Association board of directors for final approval. The selection committee is composed of representatives from the SSU faculty, the Alumni board of directors and a current student.

Elizabeth Murray, B.A., 1976.

Amy Glasmeier, Ph.D., B.A., 1978.
