How to apply

The deadline for applying for fall admission to the History MA program is February 15. All application materials must be submitted by this date. Students must apply for admission both to Sonoma State University (step 1) and to the Department of History (steps 2-3).

  1. Apply for admission to Sonoma State University through Cal State Apply. Please note that you will be asked to submit a complete set of transcripts to Sonoma State University. A second set (step 3) must be sent to the History Department.

In addition, attach a paper copy of your score sheet to your application to the Department of History. Because of the February 15 deadline, applicants should take the exam by mid-January.
