Intersession Housing

The School of Extended Education is providing a winter intersession program which will run in January (dates are yet determined). Housing will provide campus housing accommodations to coincide with the academic program for students currently living on-campus and transitioning from fall to spring. Important Dates for Intersession Housing (Students should register at least 3 days prior to returning to campus)

  • November 1: Online registration begins.
  • December 16: Residential Community closes at 11 a.m. for all residents.
  • December 16 after 11 a.m.- January 1: Residential Community is closed. The entire campus is closed from December 24 at noon to January 1. (Dates are not finalized for Winter Intersession yet)
  • January 2 after 10 a.m.: Registered intersession residents can return to campus.
  • January 3: Intersession classes start.
  • January 19: Residential Community re-opens for Spring 2018.
  • Janauary 22: Classes begin for Spring 2018.
Who is eligible to live-on campus during Intersession?
Current Fall residents who completed the Fall 2018 semester and will be continuing through to the Spring 2019 semester.
Am I eligible if I have to be on campus for athletic events or return to work early?
Students needing to stay or return early due to collegiate athletics or work may do so as long the online registration is submitted by the dealine.
What are the occupancy periods?
Approved Intersession residents will be able to return January 2 after 10 a.m. Residents are not permitted to be on-campus during the Community closure time which is December 16 at 11 am to January 1. Dates for winter intersession classes have not been finalized yet.
Will residents be allowed to occupy their room during the campus closure period?
For safety and security reasons, residents are not allowed to access their rooms after 11 a.m. on December 16 through 10 a.m. on January 2. Violators may jeopardize their ability to live on campus for future semesters.
What is the cost of Intersession Housing?
There is no additional cost to live on campus during the designated winter break dates; however you MUST register in order to have access to your room.
What is the deadline for applying for Intersession Housing?
We will start accepting registrations for Intersession November 1. Residents should complete registration 3 days prior to arrive back on campus.
Will food be available during this period?
The Kitchens will not be open during Intersession for those living in suites. Venues will be open during the day most likely in the Student Center.
What are my winter break housing options as a current or former foster youth student?
Please call Housing Services at (707) 664-2541 or dial 711 for relay service to discuss options available to you over the winter break.

During the winter break, Housing Services and Facilities Services may need to enter your residence to complete necessary inspections, maintenance and repairs, upgrades, and housekeeping in order to prepare the unit for the Spring semester. All University and Housing policies and regulations are in effect during Intersession. Intersession Housing is not available to new students taking occupancy in the Spring semester or for those students who have Petitioned to Vacate at the end of the Fall semester.
