Step 1: New Staff Paperwork

A new employee sign-up is required for all new employees or those who have not worked at Sonoma State University within the past three years.

Per federal requirements, you must present document(s) that demonstrates your identity and your eligibility to work in the United States to meet the legal requirements of the Immigration and Reform Control Act.  Please bring with you your original, unexpired document(s) to the sign-up.  You can find the list of acceptable documents here or on the 3rd page of the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9.  Employees may present one selection from List A or a combination of one selection from List B and one selection from List C. 

Once you have your acceptable document(s), please contact Human Resources at 707-664-3100 or to request your new employee paperwork and schedule an appointment to meet with an HR Representative. You will be asked to provide your full name and an email address where we can send the paperwork.  Please have your paperwork completed prior to the meeting.  At this meeting, you will have the opportunity to ask any questions and/or update any forms if needed. Please be reminded to bring your acceptable documents to establish your identity and work authorization.

Please note that you may have already been sent the new hire paperwork, if so, there is no need to call Human Resources. Please plan to complete the paperwork and call to make an appointment with Human Resources.
