  • There are so many ways to learn about sexuality at SSU!
  • If you are a Professor, a Faculty or Professional Staff member, or even a Student Leader interesting in learning how to be a better Ally to LGBTQ+ students and members of the community, then you can easily sign up for SSU's¬†SafeZone¬†Training.
  • A great on-campus resource for issues regarding health is the Sonoma State Health Center. The Health center provides contraceptivesand periodic women's exams which includes: pap smear, breats exams, pelvix exams, and STI testing. They're open Monday through Friday, 8 am- 4:30pm.
  • Another great resource for health related issues, for those without medical insurance, can go to Petaluma Health Center or Rohnert Park Health Center and receive medical care.  This medical center offers pregnancy testing, contraception counseling, STI & STD screenings, routine gyno visits, counseling, etc.  There are many offices within this medical center, such as a Pharmacy, Dental Clinic, Family Practice, Women’s Health and Obsterics, Mental Health, Group Wellness Programs.

  • Another major resource is Planned Parenthood! Not only do they provide much of the services listed above but they offer LGTBQ+ friendly services and assistance!
  • The California Department of Health Care Services website provides information on Medi-CAL, how to apply, where to find your county office, and has other resources for those trying to find a medical provider.
  • This is a resource for those who do not have medical insurance, and where you can apply online for Medi-CAL.
  • Sonoma County website that provides an overview on Cal-Fresh formely known as food stamps, Medi-Cal, and other forms of assistance.
