About Your SSU Exchange Email Account

All SSU students and employees are automatically provided an SSU Exchange email account. The instructions below are for adding your SSU Exchange account to your email client. To ensure full functionality and compatibility with Exchange, it's recommended you use Outlook 2010 and newer for your email client. Please also make sure to regularly update your Outlook client in order to mitigate potential operational problems.

Accessing your Exchange Email Account

You have these main ways of accessing your Email account.

Webmail/Outlook Web App (OWA) - Login to SSU Online Services, then click Email.
Note: You'll find a "Login" link at the top of the SSU homepage, and many other SSU pages.

Email Client Applications - Configure an email application on your computer:

  • Windows Clients:

  • IMAP Settings for alternative email applications: 
    NOTE: Will not work with calendaring or Global Address Book
    • Username and password are your Seawolf ID and password.
    • Incoming Server:
      • SSL/TLS Port 993
    • Outgoing Server:
      • SSL/TLS Port 587
  • Smart Phones and Tablets: Most devices that support Exchange email accounts are compatible with your SSU email. See below for specific setup instructions for the most common operating systems:

    Other Devices - Other devices can typically be set up using the following settings:

    • Account Type - Exchange/Corporate
    • Username - Your Seawolf ID
    • Password - Your Seawolf Password
    • Domain - SOLAR
    • Server -
    • Port - 443
    • Security Type - SSL/TLS
