German Proficiency Examination

Are you interested in taking the German B1 proficiency exam? This internationally recognized basic proficiency certificate exam is offered each spring under the auspices of the Goethe Institute at Sonoma State University. The certificate is respected as proof of competency in German all over the world for employment and Study Abroad. SSU students, who wish to earn a German minor or Special major, must pass this examination.

The Goethe-Zertifikat B1 proves that you have a sound basic knowledge of everyday German and that you have the language skills required for dealing with all kinds of different situations encountered every day. The examination corresponds to level three (B1) on the six-level scale of competence laid down in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Day and Time: Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
Where: Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, Carson 18
Fee: $140.00 for SSU members; $160.00 for community members (Individual Modules $60 each)
