jonasHello! I am Jonas Richter from Germany and I am the Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant at Sonoma State University for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016. Back home, I’m studying English and Social Science with a focus on Political Science at Bergische Universität Wuppertal to become a high school teacher. I grew up in a little town called Nossen, located between Dresden and Leipzig in Saxony, East Germany. I am so excited and really looking forward to meeting all the German students and doing great activities with you guys! I am an outgoing person, and assisting you in your German studies and organizing German events on campus are one of my main goals while being at Sonoma State University. I welcome all SSU students, including those who aren’t familiar with the German language & culture yet, to participate in our German events. One of them is the biweekly German Film Series, which takes place on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in 1028 Stevenson. I will show films in German, with English subtitles, and everybody is welcome! I am also hosting the weekly „Kaffeestunde“ on Tuesdays from noon to one at Charlie Brown’s. I will also organize more events and field trips during my stay and will work together with the SSU German Club. Check out the SSU German Program homepage and the SSU German Club "Gemütlichkeit" on Facebook for info! I am also available during my office hours in 3016I Stevenson on Tuesdays (1:00-2 p.m.) and on Wednesdays (12:45-1:45 p.m.). Swing by if you want to meet me, talk to me, practice your German, or if you have any questions concerning upcoming events and the German Program at SSU! Hopefully see you soon, Jonas

Hi, my name is Hannes. I am the Fulbright Language Teaching Assistant from Germany and I will be supporting the German students in the Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Sonoma State for the fall 2014 and spring 2014 semesters. Coming from a little village in a rural part of South-Western Germany, I am nature-loving and very close to my family. Before I came here, I just handed in my Master thesis to become a teacher of English, Physical Education and Geography in Germany. In my leisure time I engage in all kinds of sports, hiking or adventure activities, and I love to play the guitar and sing along. I am absolutely fascinated by California so far and look forward to staying here with all of you for the year. And, by the way, if you have problems of any kind, my office hours are on Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to one o´clock. Feel free to stop by!
Bis bald, Hannes
