Audition Days

Once you have applied to the university you can schedule an Audition to become a Music Major on one of the Department of Music Audition Days.

The Navy Band will perform in Weill Hall February 21.


United States Navy Band

Mark your calendar for February 21 at 7:30 pm when the United States Navy Band will give a free concert in Weill Hall as part of their Spring 2018 US Tour. Captain Kenneth Collins conducts. Free admission, ticket required.


Guitarist Grisha Goryachev

Guitarist Grisha Goryachev will be in residence on April 14 for a classical guitar master class and concert in Schroeder Hall. A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Goryachev is renowned for his extraordinary musical sensitivity and technical virtuosity in both classical and flamenco styles. The concert begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets $8, free to SSU students. Master class details will be announced at a later date.

Navarro Programs Music by Brahms and Teneyev

Violist Wayne Roden joins Chamber Artists-in-Residence Navarro Trio on February 18 for Piano Quartets (violin, viola, cello and piano) by Brahms and Teneyev. Roden, who teaches viola at Sonoma State, can be heard as a string soloist on the San Francisco Symphony’s recording of Strauss’ Metamorphoses, Herbert Blomstedt conducting, on the Philips label. The 2 pm concert takes place in Schroeder Hall. Tickets $8 and free to SSU students.
