CHORAL AUDITIONS: Rare Opportunity to Sing in Weill Hall Opens to Community Singers

A rare opportunity to sing in Weill Hall, the new world-class performance venue at the Green Music Center at Sonoma State University, is being offered to community singers in the North Bay and beyond for the first time.

Regional auditions for the Sonoma State University Symphonic Chorus will take place

*Monday, August 13 and Tuesday, August 14 from 1-6 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran, 1180 Lynwood Drive, Novato

*Wednesday, August 15 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Napa First United Methodist Church, 625 Randolph Street, Napa

*Thursday, August 16 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1 Wellbrock Heights, San Rafael

*Tuesday, Aug. 21, 3-9 p.m.;Wednesday, Aug. 22, 5-8 p.m.; Thursday, Aug. 23, 3-9 p.m. at Green Music Center, Room 1028, Sonoma State University

The SSU Symphonic Chorus rehearses on Mondays from 7-9:40 p.m. and gives three to four major concerts annually.

Under the leadership of Director of Choral Activities Jenny Bent, the chorus' first concert is at 7 a.m. on Sept. 30 as part of the grand opening weekend of the Green Music Center.

The 2012-13 season also includes performances on Dec. 1-3 with the Santa Rosa Symphony Titans of Opera and Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana on May 5.
