USAF Band of the Golden West Comes to Weill Hall

 

The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West Concert Band is soaring into Sonoma State University for a free concert with the SSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble at the Green Music Center’s Weill Hall at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014.¬†¬†

The concert is ticketed but free. Advance tickets are encouraged and are available online, by phone, or in person. For information call the university box office at 707-664-4246 or email tickets@sonoma.edu.

Led by Commander and Conductor, Captain Dustin Doyle, this select group of 50 professional Airman-musicians from Travis Air Force Base is the flagship of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West and has performed for millions of listeners.  The band will play patriotic, traditional and operatic transcriptions with ¬†featured vocalists SSgt Megan May and SSgt Michelle Doolittle.

The SSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Andy Collinsworth, will perform works for wind band by Husa, Reed, Zare, Goodwin and McKenzie as the conclusion of its East Bay concert tour Oct. 19-21. Click here for program details.
