Symphony Orchestra, Marionettes Team Up for Family Concert

Find out who's really pulling the strings when the Sonoma State Symphony Orchestra presents its first-ever family concert on Feb. 26 in Weill Hall at the Green Music Center, featuring Bay Area marionette performance group Fratello Marionettes.

While the orchestra performs excerpts from classics of orchestral literature, Fratello Marionettes will enact stories and dances inspired by the music. Alexander Kahn conducts the hour-long program starting at 2 pm in Weill Hall, followed by a post-concert instrument petting zoo.

Tchaikovsky – Nutcracker Suite No. 1

Saint-Saens – Carnival of the Animals

Rimsky Korsakov – Dance of the Tumblers

Tickets are $8, parking included, and free to SSU students with ID. Children under two will be admitted free.
