3rd Annual Sonoma Invitational Wind Band Festival

The Department of Music presents the third annual Sonoma Invitational Wind Band Festival. The two-day event brings 17 premier high school wind bands from California to the Green Music Center where adjudicators from the US and Canada will evaluate and work with each band. The performance schedule runs all day March 13 beginning at 8:30 am, concluding at 2:30 pm on March 14.

Highlighting the festival will be two free concerts by the SSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Andy Collinsworth conductor. The performances at 1:30 pm March 13 and 2 pm March 14 will feature Roy Zajac, principal clarinetist of the Santa Rosa Symphony and clarinet instructor at SSU, performing Carl Maria von Weber’s Concertino for Clarinet. The program also includes a suite from John Williams’ Star Wars film score. May the force be with you!
