My Bio

Hailed as a "delicious diva" and lauded for her "unforgettably powerful voice", Canadian soprano Rhoslyn Jones is a commanding presence on both the concert and operatic stages of the world. In the past few seasons, Rhoslyn has performed with the San Francisco Opera, Opera Santa Barbara, Vancouver Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria, New York City Ballet, Arizona Opera, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Anchorage Symphony Orchestra, among others.
Specializing in lyric soprano repertoire, Ms. Jones has received great acclaim for her interpretations of the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Susannah in Carlisle Floyd's Susannah, Michaela in Carmen, both Mimi and Musetta in La Boheme, and Tatyana in Eugene Onegin. A proponent of new music as well, Rhoslyn created the role of Julia Dent Grant in the world premiere of Phillip Glass' Appomattox at San Francisco Opera.
Equally passionate about teaching, Ms. Jones has a flourishing private studio and is the head of the Summer Vocal Workshop at the University of British Columbia, as well as an Artist in Residence at the School of the Arts in San Francisco.
Rhoslyn completed her Bachelor's and Master’s degrees with honors at the University of British Columbia, and received an Artist Diploma from the renowned Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She spent two summers in the Merola program with the San Francisco Opera and was then invited to the prestigious Adler Fellowship. Ms. Jones is the recipient of numerous scholarships and awards, including the Mario Lanza Award, the Licia Albanese Foundation, Vancouver Women's Guild, and she was a semi-finalist at the Metropolitan Opera Competition.
