Andy Wallace

Associate Professor of Philosophy (2003)

Dr. Wallace's area of specialization includes social and political
philosophy, normative ethics, meta-ethics, 19th and 20th century German
Philosophy and the philosophy of religion. Dr. Wallace has published and
lectured on the German Philosopher Juergen Habermas, philosophy of law,
the ethics of compassion, Aristotle and Buddhism, philosophical
anthropology, the political sociology of religious-based acts of political
violence and other topics Dr. Wallace is currently working on an
interdisciplinary study of compassion, which blends classical philosophy,
Buddhism, positive psychology and neurobiology.
