Internship Description

CHI: Conscious Healing Innovations provides an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for addiction recovery including: 1) state-of-the-art treatment protocols; 2) networked provider systems; 3) educational programming; and, 4) community reinforcement systems—all of which integrate team providers from multidimensional orientations in “best practices” for addiction treatment.

Our mission is two-fold: to improve upon the standards of addiction care, raising the bar on services in order to meet the requirements set forth by CASAColumbia following their five-year nationwide study concerning the failure of medical services in the treatment of addiction disorders; and, to decrease the cost of treatment, incurred by financing burdens and recidivism.

Headquartered in Sebastopol, California, CHI is a low-volume start-up company with a three year ramp-up agenda.  Our initial stage of development features a live action treatment pilot program, with full outpatient clinic services, where we track the metrics of our providers and patients, our systems effectiveness, educational program adequacy, patient recidivism, and costs. The second stage of CHI Recovery is focused on scientific research as well as treatment.

CHI Recovery is currently in the process of being vetted, or examined, by the UCSF School of Medicine.  This means that researchers at UCSF will be investigating CHI Recovery’s records, including emails, patient notes, assessments, labs, INTAKE packets, legal documents, and bank statements and records.  As an intern, part of your responsibilities would include assisting CHI Recovery through this process.  A large portion of this internship will involve organizing and compiling these records, both in hard copies as well as electronically, so that they can be easily accessed by UCSF.
