This site has a useful step-by-step formula to get acquainted with the scholarship process in general as well as scholarship opportunities.

In addition to a great scholarship search engine, this site contains many helpful resources for scholarship hopefuls to access, including how to write a scholarship essay and much more.

This is probably the single most comprehensive scholarship search site on the internet (13.5 million scholarships worth $8 billion); however, it has a $29.95 annual fee -- this is a legitimate site.


Graduate students, postdocs, research administrators, or faculty members can log onto this free site to learn about the latest funding opportunities in the sciences.

Undoubtedly the best site to access if you want to prevent being duped in a scholarship scam.

This is a good site to search for scholarships based on ethnicity.

Smart Student Guide to Minority Scholarship

This site contains many links to ethnicity-based scholarship sites and contains some helpful resources.

Study Abroad Scholarships

Probably the best site for students who are planning to study abroad. It contains only scholarships specifically designed for students in the U.S. who will be studying in another country.

Institute of International Education

In addition to being home to the Fulbright Scholar Program, this site is also home to the new Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program, which will provide up to $5,000 for U.S. Citizens or U.S. Nationals who are undergraduate students at two year and four year institutions to pursue overseas study, enabling students who have limited financial means to participate in study abroad opportunities worldwide.

Nationally Coveted Scholarships

This one is pretty self-explanitory -- it contains links to all of the most notable and selective scholarships.

USA Funds

Beginning in the 2002-2003 academic year, USA Funds, the nation's largest education-loan guarantor, will award up to $3 million in new, need-based scholarships. Visit this site beginning in fall 2001 to find out how to apply.

Dollars for Scholars (California Chapters)

Dollars for Scholars is a private fund raising consortium whose focus is to raise money for the purpose of awarding scholarships to high school students entering college. If you are currently a high school student, you should investigate this link to locate your local Dollars for Scholars chapter.
