Academic Interests:

Linh Huynh is a lecturer at Sonoma State University, specializing in the field of social welfare. For the past three years, Ms. Huynh has also taught a human behavior course in the graduate school of Social Welfare at UCLA. Additionally, Ms. Huynh is currently the Chief of Staff at College Track, a national nonprofit organization that empowers students to achieve their dream of a college education. Prior to College Track, she served as the Vice President of Community and Health Services at LA’s Promise, a nonprofit education management organization that operates three schools on a performance contract with the Los Angeles Unified School District. She also served as a social worker with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) where she provided counseling and case management services to youth in foster care.

Ms. Huynh’s family immigrated to the United States during the Vietnam War. As a result of her parent’s lack of formal education and inability to speak English, she was quickly exposed to the systemic issues impeding low-income communities. Today, those experiences continue to shape her long-term aspirations to empower disenfranchised communities and evoke social change.
