“What’s happening with your hair?!”

The Hair Party is a performance conversation between Urban Bush Women, selected excerpts  from the dance Hair and Other Stories, and residents of local host communities that initiate or continue the dialogue about hair, heritage and agency. Hosted in living rooms, beauty salons and other alternative venues, The Hair Party allows participants to discuss closely held beliefs about themselves and society, and to celebrate and appreciate their individual beauty. The Hair Party has been successfully hosted for intimate groups of 25 to forums of more than 250 people. Participants should expect to Explore movement, Share their stories, and Celebrate their choices!
