Priority 5 Priority 6 Staff Training Application

Priority 5: Focuses on proven strategies for recruiting and serving
hard-to-reach populations—including students who are limited English
proficient, students from groups who are traditionally underrepresented
in postsecondary education, students who are individuals with disabilities,
students who are homeless children and youth, students who are foster
care youth, or other disconnected students. The new methods and
strategies introduced in this training are applicable for all students. See U.S.
Dept. of Educ. TRIO Newsletter featuring this training.

Priority 6: Training for new directors with less than 2-years of experience. This
training is strictly designed for new directors. No one but those who serve in
the Director position or a position that performs duties typically associated
with a director, and has been in that position for 2 years of less, is eligible to
attend the Priority 6 New Director training.

Online: Though it is recommended that onsite trainings are preferred by trainees,
the online versions
are excellent choices for TRIO staff who are unable to travel.

Please Note: Sonoma is not the only grantee funded by the U.S. Dept. of
Education for Priority 6. Please be advised that you can only register for one
Priority 5 and one Priority 6 within the same grant year, regardless of the
venue or the grantee.

NOTE: Priority 5 is funded for $357,702, and Priority 6 is funded for $203,383. These trainings
are funded 100% by federal funds.
