(Posted March 2015) GREAT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG FRANCOPHONES THIS SUMMER!  EFBA is offering a great volunteering opportunity to young francophones aged 16 and up: volunteering in EFBA's 2015 Summer Camps! Thirty participants (twenty-four high school students and six teachers) from Mali and Niger will engage in a rigorous academic curriculum supplemented with local community service projects with cultural and social activities rounding out the program. Using California as the microcosm, issues confronting American democracy such as race relations and the role of youth in the political structure will be addressed. Participants will be empowered as individuals and as a group to become active participants in their home societies. In addition to the formal curriculum, participants will experience American culture and values by living with an American host. Hosts may be families, single people, couples with or without children, etc. At least one person in the household should speak high school level French. The group from Mali and Niger will follow the November 2013 successful implementation of the program with participants from Mauritania, Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire.  Questions?  Call David Beiser, 415.434.5657 or email
