Student Evaluations Going Electronic

Starting this semester SSU will utilize on-line student course evaluations (Student Evaluation of Teaching Effectiveness). As we transition to a new format for delivering the SETE, the Faculty Standards and Affairs Committee of the Academic Senate, in collaboration with Faculty Affairs, are exploring ways to make the SETE a better tool for gathering feedback from our students.

During this process FSAC wants to hear from the University community on these efforts. FSAC has set up a Moodle forum page to provide background information and foruse in providing feedback. The forum page is accessible from where you click on LINK to sign into the Moodle forum (CAS users). You can self enroll into this Moodle site. Discussion groups are being organized around three major topics:

  1. Implementation of the electronic SETE
  2. SETE Task Force reviewing the current SETE questions
  3. Development of draft policy on the accessibility and use of data that will become available from the electronic SETEs
  4. Please share deas and thoughts. Input from the community will be used to guide us work toward an efficient and useful student evaluation process.
