Hollie M.

Hello there! My name is Hollie and this is my third year working at the Writing Center. I am from a small town up in the Sierras called Grass Valley and my heart will always live at the Yuba River. I am passionate about music, art, sustainable living, animal and environmental conservation, social justice, and individual expression of any kind (writing especially). As a patron of the Writing Center community I can say with complete confidence that there is no other place quite like it on Sonoma State’s Campus. It truly is a space for writers of all sorts, and yes we are all writers. If you have the capacity to speak or think, you have the potential to write honestly and beautifully. I am here to help you find and develop that voice of yours if you have any interest or intention at all to do so. I am a Liberal Studies major (Art minor) which means that I am interested in pretty much every subject you throw at me. This is the reason I love tutoring. I love learning from the students who come with their drafted essays, students who come to brainstorm for prompts, to revise their resume, to edit their personal statements, to talk about their ideas for the novel they plan to write, and to search for any blemishes on their final thesis paper. As I offer my own help and expertise, you offer something far greater: your words. Come to the Writing Center. Meet with any one of our amazing, kind, and insightful tutors, and challenge yourself to grow as a writer and a human being.
