Non-Faculty Volunteer Employment

The California State Government Volunteers Act sets out some general parameters which define the state’s relationship to those who volunteer on its behalf. The Act defines a volunteer as:

...any person who, of his own free will, provides goods or services, without any financial gain, to any state agency. — California Government Code § 3111(a)

Effective immediately, all volunteers are designated as “Limited Reporter” per CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised. For more information, please see Child Abuse Mandated Reporting.  Limited Reporter Acknowledge is required to be completed as part of the Non-faculty Volunteer Appointment Form.

Employment Services oversees the campus Non-Faculty Volunteer program, and assistants campus departments in signing up non-faculty volunteers for various programs.
