When applying to Sonoma State University, all students seeking admission to the Hutchins School should list "Liberal Studies/Hutchins, Hutchins School" as their major.

Students applying as Freshmen must test into college-level English by passing the EPT (English Placement Test) or equivalent exams. Students seeking admission into the Hutchins Track III/Blended Program as Freshmen must test into college level English and math by passing the ELM (Entry Level Mathematics) exam and the EPT, or their equivalent exams.

When entering the Track III Blended Program as Freshmen, students must file a separate application with the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies directly. Please visit our Student Forms section to download the Track III/Blended Program Application packet. Those seeking admission to the Track I or Track II program as Junior transfers must meet SSU upper division transfer requirements. Please visit SSU Admissions for transfer admission information.
