"ARRIVE ALIVE" CAMPAIGN
Police and Parking Services Target Campus Riders in Bicycle Safety Campaign
To prevent as many accidents as possible Sonoma State University Police and Parking Services is implementing the “Arrive Alive” campaign until May 2. The campaign focuses on preventing pedestrian and bicycle-related accidents through “Engineering, Education, and Enforcement.” Police and Parking Services is working in partnership with SSU Facility Services to improve roadway markings and signage related to bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
Additionally, Police and Parking Services is partnering with the SSU Athletics Department (and the Seawolf Mascot), Women’s Soccer Team, the STAR, the Alternate Transportation Committee, and the Recreation Center Bicycle Maintenance Program.
Police and Parking Services is also partnering with the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety to assist with the enforcement of bicycle and pedestrian law violations occurring on and around our campus. Finally, the Police and Parking Services website has been updated with bicycle and pedestrian helpful tips, best practices, and safety laws. Feel free to call Police and Parking Services or Police Officer/Bicycle Patrol Officer Dave Dougherty with any questions regarding the "Arrive Alive" campaign at 4-2143 .
