Awarded annually to a Sociology Major at Sonoma State University. The Joseph J. Byrne Scholarship is administered through the University Scholarship Program http://www.sonoma.edu/scholarship/. The merit-based University Scholarship Program is campus wide and requires a single application packet for all the campus wide scholarships. The application packet consists of a narrative, three letters of recommendation, transcripts, and the application. You must be an applicant, already accepted, or a current student at SSU in order to apply for a university scholarship. The application period begins in November for the next academic year. The deadline to submit the materials is once a year on January 15.

Robert Holzapfel Scholarship

Awarded annually to a student studying Sociology or Counseling. The Robert Holzapfel Scholarship is administered through the University Scholarship Program http://www.sonoma.edu/scholarship/ . Other University Based Scholarships

The Scholarship Office at SSU offers numerous merit-based scholarships based on criteria such as GPA and career interests, below are several scholarship opportunities especially targeted In order to apply for a scholarship, you must be attending SSU or have applied for admission to SSU. There is only one form to use for all scholarships. It is available on-line or at the Scholarship Office September 15th and is due by January 15th for the Fall semester of the following academic year. There is a minimum cumulative GPA requirement.
